Hand dying made easy!

Suitable Materials:

Rit works best on many natural, washable fabrics and materials, such as ...

  • 100% cotton, linen, silk, wool, ramie
  • Synthetics such as rayon and nylon
  • Fiber blends with at least 60% cotton or other dyeable fiber

How to Dye using Dylon our way:

  • For a pound of dry fabric (about 3 yards), use one package of Rit powder.
  • Dissolve powder dye along with the recommended amount of dye salt thoroughly in 2 cups of very hot water first to avoid dye spotting.
  • Stir dissolved dye and salt solution into the dye bath of hot water until evenly dispersed.
  • To avoid shrinkage, 140º F is the highest dyeing temperature that should be used.
  • Add 1 Tablespoon laundry detergent to all dye baths to help promote level dyeing.
  • Then add fabric into dye bath, move it around to colour evenly using a big plastic spoon.
  • Remove after 5 minutes rinsing in clear water.
  • Leave to dye naturally.
  • ALWAYS READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT COME WITH THIS PRODUCT BEFORE USE
